Terms of use

Clear expectations and practical limits.

These terms describe the boundaries of SIX and the responsibilities that accompany its use.

Effective July 16, 2026

Transparency note: These terms are provided for transparency and have not been presented as a substitute for professional legal advice.

Informational purpose; no professional advice

SIX organizes and analyzes information for personal, informational purposes. Nothing in SIX or on this website is financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. SIX is not a bank, brokerage, lender, payment processor, fiduciary, adviser, or automated trading system.

SIX does not guarantee savings, returns, tax results, debt reduction, financial outcomes, data completeness, or the accuracy of any forecast or scenario.

User responsibility

The user is responsible for connections they authorize, records they approve, categories and assumptions they apply, and decisions they make using the information presented. Important information should be checked against current institution records and, when appropriate, reviewed with a qualified professional.

The user is also responsible for maintaining reasonable security over their devices, accounts, and access methods, and for promptly disconnecting access they no longer want.

Third-party providers and institution data

Financial institutions and providers such as Plaid operate independently from SIX. Their services may be interrupted, delayed, changed, or unavailable. Institution information may be stale, duplicated, incomplete, incorrectly categorized, or inconsistent with official statements. Provider terms and privacy notices may also apply.

SIX does not control or warrant third-party services. A connection’s availability does not imply an endorsement by SIX, Plaid, or the connected institution.

Acceptable use

Do not use SIX to access information without authorization, interfere with service operation, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, violate applicable law, or infringe another person’s rights. Do not misrepresent SIX as providing regulated financial services or guaranteed outcomes.

Changes, suspension, and availability

SIX may change, add, limit, suspend, or discontinue features as the personal software project evolves. Compatibility with an institution or provider may change without notice. These terms may also be updated; the effective date will identify the current version.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, SIX is provided on an “as available” basis without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free data. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so those exclusions may not apply in full.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the project owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, opportunity, profits, or financial outcomes arising from use of or inability to use SIX, third-party services, or institution data. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
